Harry Potter, Year 6

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I is the excited!

I am finally finished with one book. Now, I can and have been reading the newest Harry Potter book. I'm already halfway through and cannot wait to finish it!

I'll keep this entry short since I don't want to ruin anything for those readers who have yet to read this newest installment of the series.

*signing off to go back to reading*

Pieces of April

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

If you like watching movies where family/relationship dynamics are a bit whacked, then you'll enjoy this movie.

It's Thanksgiving Day. A family are traveling over to their daughter's place for dinner. Their daughter, April, is the black sheep of the family. The family are wary about going over. While traveling, the family are also dealing with their mother, who is dying from cancer.

I love it so much that I wanna own a copy of this DVD. I just love watching anything with whacky family dynamics.

Super Size Me

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Finally got to watch Super Size Me. Uhhh...I don't think we'll be eating out any time soon.

Actually, I don't believe fast food restaurants are the sole factors of the nation's alarming rise of obesity. I believe that today's people just simply do not know how to pick the right foods to eat nor do they know how to limit themselves.

It's a challenge. Believe me, I know. KT and I are doing our damnest to watch what we eat and trying to shed a few pounds. Ok, for me...trying to shed LOTS of pounds.

We've been doing good. Eating less red meat, which KT and I have noticed that we've been able to do some things a little easier. Eating out less has helped us lose a few pounds as well as helping our wallets from deflating.

If you've not seen this film yet, I suggest that you do. I think you'll be surprised by some facts presented here. This film basically opened my eyes about some stuff.

As for eating out, I don't think we'll swear it off. It's just that we'll definitely be eating out less. ...and that's not a bad thing...

The Machinist

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The Machinist is an enigmatic movie. You just have to watch it through the end until you'll finally understand what's been going on. It's an interesting movie that just gets weirder and weirder.

I wish I could say more but that would just ruin the surprise of the movie. I'll just say one thing. Christian Bale does not look good being extremely skinny. Glad that he is back to his usual self these days.

Saturday Night

Saturday night's event was alright. I have to admit that the even could have been better coordinated. Some parts lingered longer then necessary. I think that people ended up being silly than usual as a way of dealing with the week and the closure of RAD.

I, for one, was happy for RAD to be over. I enjoyed my 2 years on the committee. I had the chance to learn all that stuff that goes on "behind the scenes" and the planning that it required to host a RAD conference. I'd like to say that it would be my first and last stint to be on such a committee...but never say "never", right?

Before I posted a few pictures, I thought I'd announce some stuff.

The RAD executive officers from 2003 to 2005 have been re-elected to another term.

RAD 2007 will be held in Atlanta.

RAD 2009 will be held in Chicago (no site available).

RAD 2011 will be held in Milwaukee.

KT and I are definitely looking forward to Atlanta. See y'all there!

Miss RAD Pageant

The Miss RAD Pageant is a popular event at RAD conferences. This one was no exception. Everyone had a great time. All the contestants for various titles were good...along with some weird moments. When Miss Taken did her talent part, I think that everyone knew she had won the title. When there was an individual interview with the same question asked to all the contestants, Miss Taken had the best and funniest response. Congrats to all who participated and won!

Here are some of the many photos taken this night:

Men's/Women's/Youth's Night Out

KT and I were so tired by the end of the day on Wednesday. We went to the Men's/Women's/Youth Night Out for like 15 minutes and we were like not in the mood to party. We just came home and went to bed early. The same for Thursday night, which was the International Deaf Bear (IDB)/International Deaf Leather (IDL) event. We were just tired and we wanted to rest up for Friday and Saturday nights' events.

We were able to take a few pictures before we left.

Flamingo Ball

The Flamingo Ball was a blast. Everyone had a great time. The food was wonderful. People were just in a jolly mood. MJ gave such an inspirational speech that literally gave some people, including me, some goosebumps. Many pictures were taken and here are a few.
